"Always remember to breathe."

T. Mielke

Tyson's life seems to have come full circle. Born and raised in Campbell River, Tyson left home at age 17 to check out the world. His explorations took him to Vancouver, Los Angeles, England, Portugal and Victoria. Tyson worked a variety of jobs along the way - one of the most memorable being a bartender and boarder in a 300 year old, haunted pub in Eton, England. During his time in Victoria, Tyson received a college diploma in Applied Communication from Camosun College. Upon graduation he worked with White Bear Productions on a variety of projects. He was a producer, writer, editor, and camera operator on Investigators of the Last Frontier, a television series that aired on Discovery Channel Canada; an underwater camera assistant on The Atlantis Adventures, a pilot program shot on location in the Hawaiian Islands; and a camera operator and assistant on a documentary about mining reclamation practices in British Columbia. As an independent producer, Tyson has made numerous promotional videos for clients such as The Royal British Columbia Museum, Special Olympics Victoria, Kaleidoscope Theater, Industry Canada, and West Mont Montessori School - which captured an Amtec Award. Other credits include writing and directing a 30 second commercial for an Island Star Trek Convention, technical support for the '94 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, writer/ researcher for the interactive CD Rom-Base Station Safari, and the role of Production Co-ordinator on the motion picture The Guardian. The circle was complete when Tyson moved back to Campbell River to become part of the Splashes team. In his spare time Tyson enjoys writing and recording songs, and figuring out his personal demons. Tyson's philosophy of life is to trust your instincts and follow your heart.
