Lesson 5: Prepositions & Phrases (7:10)

prepositional phrases"Preposition means placed before. Think of it as pre-position.  A preposition is a word placed at the beginning of some phrases to show the relation of the principal word in the phrase to another word in the sentence.  Prepositions are classified as simple or compound." Marie is on the beach, armed with her tool belt, attempting to rebuild a beach fort that was damaged by a recent storm.   While tackling this ambitious undertaking she provides examples of simple prepositions and compound prepositions.  Later, after finishing the construction, doing a bit of landscaping, and hanging some rainbow colored curtains, she takes us inside the renovated fort.  While sitting at the newly built driftwood table she discusses prepositional phrases and the object of the preposition, and provides examples using nouns and pronouns.
